So How Can We Offer So Much
Savings?
Our monthly subscription fee pays for your firm's unlimited use of
our conference bridging equipment. Your participants pay for
their own long-distance call to join your conference call.
If you are now using an 800 number for conferencing, you are
probably paying too much for the long-distance call that is buried
in the price per minute. Flat Rate CONNECT lets you take
advantage of the recent drop in long-distance rates.
Can I get a toll-free dial-in number so
that my attendees don't pay for the long-distance?
You certainly can. Your long-distance carrier can assign you a
permanent 800, 888, 877 or 866 number which points to your Flat Rate
CONNECT Dial-in Number. Your participants will then dial in on
your 800
number instead of your Flat Rate Dial-in Number.
How much can I save with Flat Rate
CONNECT?
It depends on who you use for audio conferencing. Long-distance carriers like AT&T are
generally the most expensive, while there are dozens of independent
service providers whose prices may vary. You can ask
them about unlimited flat fee conference calls during prime business
hours, but they probably will not offer anything like Flat Rate
CONNECT. Send us a recent bill from your current provider and
we will show you how much you could have saved
with Flat Rate Connect. Also, take a look at our Savings
Calculator page to see how much you can save:
It is past the middle of the month, will
I pay for a whole month if I sign-up today?
We pro-rate based on the number of days left in the your first month.
For instance, if your service were to begin on the 15th day of a 30
day months, then the first month's rate would be reduced by half. Don't
forget about our 7 Day Free Trial!
I need only one or two calls this month
and then will not need the service again. Can I still sign-up?
You certainly can. Tell us in advance and we will cancel your
service at the end of the month so that we don't charge
your credit card or bill you for the following month's service. You can cancel your service either
by phone 800 876-7996 or by e-mail:
Can I get Flat Rate Connect to bill my
firm each month instead of charging my credit card?
Yes. We would be happy to set up a monthly billing
arrangement. Click here to set up on-line:
Can I have more than one conference call
going at the same time?
You can have as many conference calls in a month as you want, but
they cannot overlap. For instance if you schedule a one
hour conference call at 10:00 and another at 11:00 then you run the
risk of your 11 o'clock parties joining your 10 o'clock call before it is
finished. You may want to leave a 15 minute transition "gap"
between scheduled calls.
If this is an issue for you, we can provide you with additional
accounts so that conference calls do not overlap.
What features are available for
individual participants on a
conference call?
(*3) - Automated Playback of a Recorded Call.
Listen to conference calls that were recorded previously.
(*6) - Self Mute. Participants will continue to hear the
conference call and will not be heard by others on the call.
Pressing *6 again to un-mute yourself. Folks
with noisy cell phones and callers with
lots of background noise will appreciate this feature.
What features are available for the
conference call Leader?
(*2) - Record the Call. Press *2 to begin recording the call
for future replay. Press *2 again to end recording.
(*5) - Group Mute also called Lecture Mode. Mutes all
participants but not the Leader. Press *5 again to open all lines.
(*6) - Self Mute. Participants will continue to hear the conference
call and will not be heard by others on the call. Pressing *6 again
to un-mute yourself.
(*7) - Security Lock. Will lock the call and prevent additional callers from
joining the call. Press *7 again to un-lock the call
(*8) - Participant Count. Give a count of how many are on the
call (to your ear only).
Can I record a conference call
and have folks listen to it later?
Yes you can. During your conference call the Leader
can press *2 to begin the recording.
Recorded conference calls will be retained for 30 days.
If you want to retain your recorded conference call, we can transfer
it to CD or .wav file.
Can I get a tape or a CD of my
conference call, how about a .wav file?
It is easy to take advantage of this optional service from Flat Rate
CONNECT. Record the call as described above and then use our
on-line order form at least a day before the 30 days are up on your recording.
We will transfer the recording to either a
70 minute CD
($45.00 sent 1st class mail or $55.00 delivered overnight) or .WAV file
on a CD ($45.00 sent 1st class mail or $55.00 delivered overnight). If you want to
put your conference call on your website then the .wav file is
recommended.
How many people can I get on a
conference call?
Depending on the type of service you choose you can have as many as
10, 20, or 50 lines on a single conference call.
It is a good idea to have parties in the same building meet in a
conference room so that they can share a line with a speakerphone.
This can allow for even more participants on a call.
Can I get more than 50 participants on a
conference call?
Yes, you certainly can. Flat Rate CONNECT offers custom
subscriptions for unlimited conferencing up to 200 participants.
The cost is just $1.00 per line over 50.
For example: an 80 line subscription would be $180 per month.
($150 for the first 50 and $30 for the extra 30 lines).
Is it possible to have an operator
assist with our call?
Flat Rate CONNECT conference calls are unattended. That means
that there are no operators checking in participants or monitoring
the lines. In the unlikely event that you are experiencing
problems on your conference call you can call our toll-free
Operations Center at 1-800-876-7996.
Is there a cancellation fee?
There is never a fee to cancel your subscription to Flat Rate
Connect. However, we do not prorate or credit the unused
portion of a month's service.
How do you handle international callers?
Actually, international callers can dial into our conference calls
the same straight-forward way your domestic participants do.
How many conference calls can I make in
a month?
There is no limit. They just cannot overlap.
Does each caller need an access code or just
the host? Why two access codes?
Your confirmation from Flat Rate CONNECT will include your permanent Dial-in Number,
Leader Code and Participant Code. You give the Participant
Code and Dial-in Number to all your participants. The
conference will not begin until the Leader dials in and enters the
Leader Code. This is an effective security measure.
Can I add callers once the call has
started?
You certainly can. There will be a tone when an additional
participant has joined the conference call. Likewise there is
another tone when someone leaves the call.
Do I have to make a reservation for my
conference call?
No! There is no need to make a reservation. Your service
is "on" and available for conference calls 24 hours a day and 7 days
a week. We do not expect you to let us know when you are
planning to have a conference call.
Can I dial out to a participant?
No. There is no dial-out feature available.
Will I hear a difference in sound or
voice quality?
You should not hear any difference between a Flat Rate CONNECT
Conference Call and a normal long-distance call. We use the
same long-distance carriers that you do.
Do you offer a Premium Service?
Flat Rate CONNECT specializes in low cost, high quality, unlimited
